Program Application

Applications are now open for the May 2024 – January 2025 cohort. Applications will close on March 25th, 2024.

Participants must be able to commit to participating in the program from May 2024 – January 2025. Due to the nature of the program, and the high volume of participants, not all applicants are accepted to the program. Applicants must meet the program eligibility in order to move forward.

To get started, review our recruitment process below and complete the program application. Individuals who are interested in the program will only be considered if they fill out the below application. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee the applicant’s acceptance. All applicants will receive an email response from Good Foot, within 2 weeks of their initial application submission. We ask for your patience as we review all applications.

Recruitment Process

Part 1. Fill out our online application form at the bottom of this page.

Part 2: Pre-Screening & In-Depth Application (60 – 120 minutes)

  1. Interview & Assessments
    1. Intake: Applicants will meet with a member of our Programs team to begin the intake process and get to know the applicant a bit better. We will collect information about the applicant’s preferred learning style, interest in the program and their previous work or volunteer experience. Applicants attend a sit-down meeting with our Programs team where the applicant will be asked a variety of questions that will allow us to assess their knowledge and skill set to determine if this program is the right fit for the applicant.
    2. Written Portion: Second, selected applicants will complete a short answer questionnaire, involving problem solving, reading comprehension and scenario questions.
    3. Navigation Assessment: Lastly, participants will be directed to complete a “mock delivery” with an Assessment Facilitator, taking the TTC to a nearby location and back to the office. The applicant will be given an outline of the process including the addresses that they will be traveling to, that they may reference at any time. The Assessment Facilitator will also have this information and can answer any questions the applicant may have. Time Permitting: Applicants fill out program forms with a member of the Programs team.
Please note that being invited to this stage of the recruitment process does not guarantee that the applicant is accepted to the program.

Part 3: Complete Program Forms (approx. 15 – 30 minutes)

All applicants will receive notification of their application status. Expect to hear from us within 5-10 business days regarding your application status. Upon acceptance, program forms will be forwarded to you for completion.

Jamila saw a job posting online for a local bakery assistant on the website Indeed. She has been looking for a job for 3 months. This job posting caught their eye right away as Jamila loves baking at home and this would be a great opportunity. Jamila immediately filled out the online application and attached their resume and cover letter. Two weeks later, Jamila received an email from the bakery asking to come in for an interview. Jamila needed to choose an interview date of either Wednesday the 15th or Thursday the 16th; she was so excited she emailed back right away and chose Wednesday. When the interview date arrived, Jamila was very nervous. She wanted to do really well for the interview and impress the manager, so she brought in homemade brownies to show off some of her skills. Jamila was so overwhelmed with excitement for the interview and busy making the brownies, she had forgotten to practice some common interview questions and responses. Thankfully, Jamila had excellent responses to the interview questions and mostly chatted about her love of baking with the manager. The manager felt that Jamila was passionate about baking and could see that she wanted to learn more about working in a bakery. Jamila got the job and will start work next Monday.
