Introducing Jamie, our Run Club Assistant

I am always looking to set new goals and challenge myself. Last year, I joined the Good Foot Run Club and participated in my first 5K race. This year, not only do I hope to beat my personal best, but I have been selected to serve as the Run Club Assistant, which means I have the privilege of helping my peers cross the finish line!
As the Run Club Assistant, I am first and foremost responsible for a fun and safe Run Club. Run Club is a group of Good Foot employees and friends that meet once a week with volunteer running coaches from BlackToe running. There, with the coaches, we work on our speed and stamina in preparation for the 5K.
I wanted to be the Run Club Assistant this year because I am grateful for, and in support of Good Foot’s mission and what they provide for the neurodivergent community. And I hope to be able to pay that forward and provide my own value to my community.
Good Foot is an important organization to me and every other member of the staff. They have given me opportunities that many other businesses would not have been able to provide. I am able to work with the accommodations and understanding that I need, while still being given the space to push myself and do more than I thought I could. There are many neurodivergent individuals, like myself, who could really excel in a wide variety of areas, but they are not given the tools or the opportunity to prove themselves.
I am happy to be part of the team in this new capacity, and I am looking to make this the most fun and successful Run Club/5K yet!
