Eligibility & Expectations

Program Participants must:
- Self-identify as neurodivergent
- Neurodivergent is an umbrella term to describe differences in brain function. The neurodivergent umbrella includes autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, OCD, down syndrome, dyslexia, dyspraxia and many more. The applicant is not required to disclose any confidential information about their health.
- Special consideration will be given to individuals who identify with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN), and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be able to pass common pre-employment screenings
- E.g. drug test, background check

- Have open availability Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
- Have a strong desire to work and gain employment
- Be physically capable of participating in job shadowing shifts where I may be required to carry up to 20lbs, walk for up to 15 minutes at a time, and walk up and down stairs
- Be able to accept feedback and set goals
- Have a high level of independence
- Be able to administer any daytime medications independently
- Be able to manage personal hygiene and grooming independently
- Be able to self-regulate
- Be able to manage emotions during stressful situations
- Be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, facilitators, and supervisors when greeting, requesting help, and in light conversation
- Be able to focus in a space with others, work independently, and seek help when appropriate
- Be able to demonstrate their commitment to the program by attending all sessions in person
- Not be actively enrolled in any other program funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) during their time in the Good Foot Forward program
